About
I'm Allan Mukhwana, a venture architect, engineer and researcher based in Nairobi. I spend my time at the intersection of technology, capital and community — turning early ideas into ventures that last.

A Path Across Ventures, Code and Ideas.
I started out as an engineer, drawn to the idea that software could rewire how institutions and markets work. That curiosity pulled me into venture building — co-creating startups and technology platforms that tackle real, structural problems across Africa's humanitarian, health, and public sectors.
Over the past decade I've worked with founders, NGOs, governments and development partners — including Care International, UNHCR/FilmAid, Kenya Red Cross, Intel, Microsoft and the Kenya Ministry of Health — to design and ship technology from the ground up: shaping strategy, writing the first lines of code, and building the systems that carry an idea into production.
Alongside building, I research and write about the systems we're building on — venture models, human-centered AI, and digital public infrastructure for emerging markets. I believe a more open, equitable and ambitious future is a design choice, and I try to make that choice a little easier every day, in public, through Build With Me.

Principles That Guide My Work.
The biggest problems live between disciplines. I design across technology, capital and policy, not within one lane.
Every venture, product and paper should make life more open, equitable and dignified for the people it touches.
I test ideas with research and data before scaling them, and I'm honest when an idea doesn't hold up.
I share what I'm learning as I go — the wins, the failures, and everything that shapes the work in between.
